In part 2, we will be covering how to use social book marking effectively.
Social bookmarking sites are getting wise to the fact that marketers are attempting to abuse their system. They are constantly changing how their systems work in order to stay one step ahead.
They know that they majority of marketers bookmark their sites by themselves and do not have the money to pay other people to do it for them. Therefore, one or two social bookmarks isn’t really enough any more for you to do well with social bookmarking.
A single social bookmark is enough to get your site spidered, but if you want to get traffic from the social bookmarking site you need more than a single bookmark.
You want a minimum of five bookmarks, though ideally you want many more. You can get more through some of the techniques we discuss later on very easily and cheaply. The basic rule of thumb is the more people who social bookmark your site, the better it is for you!
Here’s a simple strategy you can use for effective social bookmarking.
1) Create a list of keywords formatted in two different ways. Firstly it needs to be space separated and then the second list comma separated. Space separated means the-keywords-need to-be separated by-spaces, so-if-you-have long-keywords you-need-to-have other-character in-between them. Comma separated just means a comma between each keyword or phrase.
2) Create at least 3 to 5 different descriptions ideally using your keywords but written from the point of view of someone who has found this site and is sharing it because they think it is interesting.
3) Create a least 3 to 5 different catchy titles using the same criteria as above.
4) Book mark each site using a different combination of title and description. You can also vary the keywords slightly on each posting for further uniqueness.
You can of course outsource this process or trade your bookmarks and provide people with the above details. You can spin your title / description if you want but ensure each combination is proper English and readable by a human being.
This is a simple strategy that works and will get you traffic from the social bookmarking sites. Remember, the more bookmarks you have, the more traffic you will get so encourage your visitors to bookmark your site too!
